The Mediterranean City: A Conference on Climate Change AdaptationA Conference on Climate Change Adaptation will initiate an ongoing collaboration of Mediterranean cities working together to address the management challenges they face by creating new and strengthening existing ties between scientists, policy makers, elected officials, corporate sustainability leaders, engineers, planners, government resource managers and others in Mediterranean climate cities.The conference will stand as an example for how cities can work together across regional and national boundaries to bring more resources and knowledge to building solutions. Planning will include explicit reference to a series of conferences to be held throughout the Mediterranean regions over the coming decade. A one-day conference focused on the shared knowledge and challenges of the unique geographies of Mediterranean cities as well as the governance and effective adaptation strategies for climate change impacts. Attendees will include scientists, policy makers, elected officials, corporate sustainability leaders, engineers, planners, government resource managers and others in Mediterranean climate cities.
